Mortlake

Moyne’s third-largest town, Mortlake’s population continues to grow steadily, hovering around 1500.

Tree-changers seeking more affordable housing will find it in Mortlake.

A renovator’s delight for under $300k or a block for $200k plus change? Yes, it is possible. The town is close to Port Fairy (50 minutes away) and Warrnambool (30 minutes) and many residents do commute to the larger towns for work.

Families and people from different backgrounds are moving to Mortlake, gradually changing the demographics of this historic town. There are two excellent schools including Mortlake College P-12, kinder and childcare, a health clinic, aged care facility, skatepark and sports facilities, a 50m public pool, golf club, an active historical society and a collection of historic bluestone beauties (churches, the former mill, old courthouse).

Two pubs and Clarke’s cafe (famous for their pies ), supermarkets, a monthly Sunday market and various other businesses and services cater for locals and visitors. The town has a range of housing styles from grand bluestone homes to humble timber cottages, town blocks and larger holdings.
